Good Morning World....
Thank God for another day.

The Bible says that " The LOVE of money is the root of evil"

It sure feels good when you wake up in the morning, and the State or Government has placed a rebate in your bank acct.

That sure does make you HAPPY...
Is that evil? (smile)

Good Morning World...
Thank God for another day

At the risk of hurting someones feelings or causing big conflict, it is often neccessary to keep your mouth shut when you don't have all the facts, or when your personal opinion might disturb the peace and harmony of a meeting or gathering.

I am often guilty of this.
I let my personal feelings take charge, and I have to get my point across...right or wrong.
This is not the way to go.

You all have heard the old saying " If you aint got nuthin good to say...keep your mouth shut"

This morning I received an invitation from the Postal Service to attend a Customer Connect Breakfast on Oct. 1st.

Immediately I thought about how I could express my feelings on how unfair the Postal Service is treating us as Carriers, yet they want us to be on the front lines promoting this program for them to our customers.

Why don't they use some of the Supervisors who are doing nothing all day to "hit the streets" and promote this program.
I'm Sorry.......thats just my opinion, and this is MY blog.

So I will go to the breakfast, with my suit on and a big smile.
I'm definately not trying to earn "brownie points"
I smile because God is good.
I am wearing a suit so that the "Postal Management" can see me in another light.

I will not do any complaining.
It is not the place...or time!

NJ Ironmen...Street Soccer

XTremBol Sunday, September 28th!

12 Teams to Battle for 4v4 Title

Newark, N.J. (Monday, September 22, 2008) - The New Jersey Ironmen announced today that they will host the inaugural XTremBol street soccer tournament this Sunday at Prudential Center. Beginning at 8AM, 12 teams will battle it out for the Xtrembol crown in the arena parking lot located on the corner of Lafeyette and Broad Street.

"Street soccer is an extremely unique and entertaining brand of the 'beautiful game,' and we are pleased to assist in bringing an event of this caliber to the City of Newark," Ironmen General Manager Tony Novo commented. "We are even further excited to give our fans a little taste of what they can expect with the Xtreme Soccer Xperience."

XTremBol bills itself as a combination of street soccer, music and culture. Their brand is played with a low-bounce ball to increase the speed of the match, requiring players to emphasize pinpoint accuracy in shots and passes. The uniqueness of their game comes in that play will be conducted in closed cages, and the XTremBol goals stand 42" X 30" with no goalkeepers in net. Matches will be 4v4, and the tournament looks to run over a 12-hour span.

Rockaway resident Andres Torres is the founder of XTremBol, and he has partnered with Eric Yamoza, Hernando RisueƱo and Javier Gonzalez to bring his concept to reality.

In addition to the street soccer tournament, music, food and other fan-friendly entertainment will be present this Sunday. Admission into the XTremBol event will be $2, and a special parking rate of $5 will be given in the Prudential Center V.I.P. parking deck on Lafayette Street.

Also on hand at the event will be city representatives such as East Ward Council Member Augusto Amador and State Assemblyman Albert Coutinho.

The Ironmen recently announced their inclusion as charter members of the Xtreme Soccer League (XSL). As part of the Xtreme Soccer Xperience, the XSL will sanction events such as street soccer, beach soccer and soccer tennis tournaments. Stay tuned to the Ironmen website at www.njironmen.com for all of the latest developments regarding the XSL.

The New Jersey Ironmen are currently seeking members for their official kids club. Those interested in joining can click here to download our registration form. You can either fax in the sheet to 973-757-6302 or mail it to the New Jersey Ironmen Kids Club, Prudential Center, 165 Mulberry Street, Newark, NJ 07102.

The New Jersey Ironmen, owned by Jeff Vanderbeek and Michael Gilfillan of the NHL New Jersey Devils ownership group, are a professional indoor soccer team that completed their inaugural season this past April. The Ironmen play their home schedule at Prudential Center in the Downtown Core Redevelopment District of Newark, and the team is finalizing preparations for their sophomore campaign as charter members of the newly-founded Xtreme Soccer League. The Ironmen are coached by two-time MISL Coach of the Year Omid Namazi. For more information on the New Jersey Ironmen, visit www.njironmen.com.

Happy Birthday LaToyah

Hey World,
Our Baby Girl is 24 today.
We are so proud of her accomplishments.

She graduated from Ramapo College 2 years ago with a Degree in Psychology and Substance Abuse.
She has always been aggressive, and she was determined to get a job with the Division of Youth and Family Services of New Jersey.

After College she landed a good job at a Group Home in Morristown.
After weighing her options, she then took on a very challenging position as a counselor at a Halfway House in Newark (Klintock)

During her time on these 2 jobs , she continued to send out resumes and go on interviews.

After 2 years she has finally landed her job at DYFS, which she started on Monday.

Mommy and I are extremely proud of you LaToyah, and we pray that when you are tired of DYFS and you are ready to start your own Counseling and Psychology Firm, don't wait for anyone to give you ANYTHING.

Remember the Nike Commercial and ...JUST DO IT!!!!

Enjoy Your Birthday!
We Love You More Than Seafood :) LOL

How Sweet The Sound

The stage is being set up for the Gospel Concert tonight.
I'm the Mailman, so you get a sneak peek LOL

Good Morning World...
Thank God for another day.

In these critical times of economic difficulties, it's time that we all start to think about ways to make ends meet other than your usual 9 to 5.

It's time to get creative and do something that you really love, and put a little TWIST to it to generate some income.

It's really not that hard.
The internet has been a Blessing to me with my passion of photography.
I am up MANY nights just reading other peoples ideas and adding my own TWIST.

Give it a try.
Think about something that you REALLY love to do, and look it up in Google.
You might find that inspiration to say to yourself...If they can do it, why can't I.

Go ahead...Get your HUSTLE on!

So stay tuned, and you will see the photos and hear exactly what I was doing

You know, a smile and a simple hello or good morning can make a big difference in someones day.
No matter what is going on in my life
I try to display a positive attitude everyday.
I know that it works because in my 26 years as a mailman, I have strived to do it everyday.
Whenever I am off, customers always tell me that they missed me.
That simple smile and good morning has opened a lot of doors for me.
Why don't you try it...it's not that hard.

Good Morning World...
Thank God for another day.

I have a habit of leaving leftovers in our refrigerator, knowing that I am creative enough to come up with a meal later on in the week.

I grew up with parents who always said "Dont you dare throw that away...there are people starving in Africa"

I know you all heard that one.

With that in mind, let's try to be more thoughtful of the people even in our own neighborhoods who don't have food to eat.
Create something from those leftovers...dont throw them away.
